More updateness
Jun. 8th, 2004 11:08 amWow, it feels strange to almost have *too* much to write about! Firms end, exams end, and whoa!
Driving was ok yesterday, apart from reversing around the corner - the last ten times I've done it, it's been perfect. And then, when I see Brian for the first time in four months - I muff it up twice :( My test is in 4 lessons time!
Managed to bump into Hemel (from Felix - he came to Paris with us too) for the first time in a year on High St Ken. Jyoti,
dr_monkey and I, went to Balans for a quick drink. Balans (if you've not heard of it) is a modern restaurant (four branches in London), with fantastically alcoholic cocktails (£5.50) and a 2-4-1 happy hour between 4 and 7, Mon to Fri. I was really impressed with their Singapore Sling, and being the cheapskate I was, I bought a fresh bread basket (£2.50 with goat's cheese and olives) for dinner, and ended up having the best restaurant meal in ages! It's become my new love in London.
Found out Mustafa was to join us later, to see 'The Consultants'. The Drill Hall bar is really nice - like the old fashioned bar in the union, with cheaper prices - *rawr*. The show itself was funny, but not hilariously so - lots of quirky little songs here and there, in the vein of Tom Lehrer, and the actors were brilliant; switching in and out of characters like I've never seen before.
Then went back to Jyoti's where her mum cooked us the nicest veggie meal I've had in ages! Vegetable Sabzi and Spicy Dhal with fresh puffy chapatis...Mmm.. I don't want to eat another ready-made chapatti again!
Today's been good so far - the virtual surgery is far harder than I thought it was. I completed all the tasks; and I failed all the tasks too - either I damaged the virtual bowel with too much handling, or I burst metaphorical blood vessels - didn't look great, that's for sure! Going to catch up with 'lini for the first time in yonks too - last time I saw her, I was in a really bad mood, so hopefully, by buying her birthday lunch (her b'day is on Sat and I've not got her anything yet!) - I'll make up for it this time :)
