Is it really Wednesday (four days since I last updated) and am I seriously half-way through firms and 15 weeks away from the exams??? Madness!

It is two and a half weeks until my birthday. Birthday wishlist shall follow, *hehe* I have so many ideas for it, it seems almost greedy to write 'em down! Mmm - looks like the car isn't happening for a bit - there's nothing worth shelling out on at the moment - heh - I drove my dad around on Sunday (he's a difficult customer) and he was impressed! He told me I was 'ok' but my mum was shocked by him being so pleased!

Heh - driving test is on Tuesday, so fingers crossed for that one. Got two more lessons - this afternoon's and Saturday's. Reversing around the corner is still an arse.

On the firm front, things are getting better, what with our use of Charing X's skills lab in our dead time. We're getting new staff tomorrow - new House Officers, which I hope will allow us to get more teaching. Our current nice house officer, Zoe, has a new job, leaving our arrogant cunt Adam to hang with us (whom he avoids talking to like the plague, apart from Toilet Bowl).

PS - Am free Thursday afternoon (after 1pm). Does anyone want to meet up? (need to be home by 7)
The dissolving of vascular surgery at Chelsea means that their staff and firms get split between lower GI (us) and upper GI. We've acquired a guy called Richard (aka Toilet Bowl), who is the most annoying person to have on firms with you - sometimes he's so annoying, you don't know whether to laugh or cry!

Toilet Bowl is generally a hard working, enthusiastic guy, who is also best friends with Titface. He turns competitive on firms, and always strives to get the most out of them, using whichever way required to do so. Not only does he practically ignore the other 3rd year medics with him (he only talks about medicine/surgery and tries to show how much he knows!), pretending to be part of the medical team; he arse-licks the doctors, to the point of them having empty rectums that can't be cleaned any further!

Toilet Bowl turns up every morning for the ward round BEFORE the doctors arrive. He is dressed in scrubs, AS IF he'd already been to the operating theatre that morning, when we know perfectly well there are no operations on until 9am, unless they are emergencies!

He started with us on Tuesday, and had been in A&E on Thursday last week, so got to see some of our patients come in. On our ward round, Mr Golder asked me and Jyoti a question about a patients history, and before we could answer, Toilet Bowl had already told him the story. He did this for a second patient (we have 6) too. What really took the biscuit was Mr Golder asking for a copy of the endoscopy photo of a particular patient. Zoe had gone off to find a copy in the notes, but Toilet Bowl put his hand in his pocket and brought one out! Jyoti and I were stunned - no one could surely be THAT obviously enthusiastic!

Argh - Toilet Bowl is fine in small doses - I don't know how to get through five more weeks of him!
I went out for dinner with Risheka, Naush and Naush's sister (Saher) after my on-call on Monday night.

We ended up going to an Italian place, Elistiane, on Sloane Square, and I had the most beautiful meal I'd had in weeks.

Mmm - Spinach and nutmeg Gnocchi with an Arrabiata (Red and Yellow tomato, basil and chilli) sauce, with Parmesan grated on top of it and plenty of black pepper :)

However, this place was pretty expensive (£8.75) and I won't be returning in a hurry, as the portions were a tad stingy for the money paid.

I spent £10 yesterday on the raw materials for Chicken Fajitas (for four people, and had a go and making them myself - they turned out beautifully :)
